This print shows the Buddhist paradise of Maitreya. Bhattaraka Maitreya has the appearance of a bodhisattva and sits upright on a throne. He displays the gesture of turning the wheel, indication that he is expounding the Buddhist teachings. His fingers hold the stems of two lotus flowers, on which a wheel and a flask rest. He is surrounded by many bodhisatvvas, arhats and adorants. Natha Maitreya sits above him in the upper storey of the palace. Buddha Maitreya stands in front of Bhattaraka Maitreya, touching the fore-head of a monk in a crowd of believers.
