The name of this prayer flag is the “Top of the Victory Banner” (rgyal mtshan rtse mo). This type has widespread popularity among the Tibetans. It is filled up with the text of “Dhāraṇī of the Shoulder-Ornament of the Top of Noble Victory Banner” (’Phags pa rgyal mtshan gyi rtse mo’i dpung rgyan ces bya ba’i gzungs, sz.: Ārya-dhvajāgrakeyūra-nāma-dhāraṇī). It is belonging to the Kriyā class Tantras of the Tibetan canon termed Kangyur (bKa’ ’gyur). In the upper part of the flag is the depiction of the Victory Banner (rgyal mtshan). B.K.
